Terms of use

EventSetu is a record-keeping tool for community groups — puja committees, societies, trusts, clubs and similar. It records events, budgets, donations, expenses, tasks and meetings, and can publish a page about an event to the people your community shares it with.

By using it you agree to these terms. If you are setting it up for a community, you confirm you are authorised by that community to do so.

EventSetu does not collect, hold, transfer or settle any money. Donations go directly into your community’s own bank or UPI account. We record what you tell us was collected and spent.

We are therefore not a bank, a payment aggregator, a wallet or a money service business, and we take no responsibility for any payment, its success, its failure, or any dispute between a donor, your community and anyone else.

Every number in EventSetu comes from what your committee entered. We derive totals and balances from those entries faithfully, but we cannot know whether an entry was correct, complete or honest.

This is not accounting, audit, tax or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for your own books or statutory obligations. If your community must file returns or be audited, use a qualified professional. Check figures against your bank statement before publishing or relying on them.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your Google account secure
• Who you invite, and what role you give them
• The accuracy of what your community records
• Having the right to enter other people’s details — donor names, phone numbers, flat numbers — and telling them how it will be used
• What your committee chooses to publish on a public page

Do not use EventSetu for anything unlawful, to collect money under false pretences, to impersonate a community you do not represent, or to publish someone’s personal details without their agreement.

An event page becomes publicly reachable only when your committee marks the event public. Your committee controls whether contributors, expenses, budget and meetings appear. Once a link is shared, anyone holding it can open the page — treat publishing as public.

We try to keep EventSetu running and correct, but it is provided as it is, without warranty. There may be downtime, defects and changes. We may alter or discontinue features.

Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. The reports screen can export your records at any time, and doing so before a festival ends is a reasonable habit.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, for money that was mis-recorded or not recorded, or for any dispute within your community about its funds.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the product in the twelve months before the claim — which, if you have paid nothing, is nothing.

You can stop using EventSetu whenever you like and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend access that breaks these terms or puts other communities at risk.

Deleting an organization deletes its financial history and cannot be undone.

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change, and significant changes will be told to Admins of active communities. Continuing to use the product means accepting the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction.
